Veteran Owned Small Business / SDVOSB Certification (Overview)

Certification allows VOSB / SDVOSB Firms the opportunity to compete for Sole-Source and Set-Aside Contracts across the Federal Government.

The Federal Government aims to award at least 5% on all Federal contracting dollars to VOSB / SDVOSB Certified business's and 7% with the VA's.

Competition is limited for certain federal contract opportunities to businesses that participate in the VOSB / SDVOSB program.

Joining the VOSB / SDVOSB program makes your business eligible to compete for the program's set-aside and sole source contracts.

    Sole Source contracts is a percentage of all federal contracts must be awarded directly to qualified VOSB organizations.

  • Set-Aside Contracts

    Set-aside contracts and grants provide competitive opportunities that only VOSB-registered businesses can bid on.

  • Additional Opportunity

    Veteran-owned small businesses also receive preferential review when bidding on open-bid contracts that the rest of the federal marketplace can also compete for.

  • Subcontracting Opportunities

    VOSB organizations are able to subcontract with Prime Contractors on larger contracts where the size of a veteran-owned small business doesn’t determine whether or not it can access lucrative federal jobs.
ELIGIBILITY:

It is encouraged to display your logos on your website, storefront and products will provide you with being able to market yourself as VOSB Certified.

Your VOSB Logo shows that your Veteran-Owned Small Business is trusted by the Federal Government and your products / services are compliant with Government Policies.

There are exceptions on behalf of eligibility which are reviewed on an individual basis. The primary qualifications that your small business must meet to be eligible for the VOSB set aside program.
  • Must be a Small Business.
  • Be at least 51% or more owned and controlled by US Citizens.
  • Have the qualifying veteran manage day-to-day operations and make all long term decisions.
